Ollene Thornton of Goldthwaite, passed away, Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at her home at the age of 80 years. She was born November 17, 1929 in San Saba, TX to John Woodson and Irene Ponton Harrell.

Ollene and Sebern Edward "Ed" Thornton were married July 4, 1947 in Brownwood, Tx. They lived in Mills County all their lives and belonged to the Christadelphian Church in San Saba, TX.

She was retired from Central Texas Telephone Co-Op where she had been General Manager and had also worked for the City of Goldthwaite.

Ollene is survived by two sons, Eddie Dean Thornton of Corpus Christi, TX; and Ronnie Lynn Thornton and wife, Barbara J. of Colony, TX.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren and spouses, Daryl Scott Thornton and Marie; Cheryl Ann Thornton; Annette Lewis and Dwight; Heidi Hill; Thomas Rasor and Melinda; Sara Ruckstuhl and David; and Ben Jackson; nine great grandchildren; four siblings, Weldon Harrell and Shirley; Woodson Harrell and Julia; Marcelene Treadwell and Walter; and Gladys Perry. Also, several nieces and nephews and close family member Margaret Ann Thornton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Thornton; her parents, her brother, Theldon Harrell; and daughter-in-law, Barbara A. Thornton; and brother-in-law, Maurice Perry.

Services were held Friday, September 10, 2010 at Stacy-Wilkins Chapel with Paul Wood officiating. Interment at Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery, Goldthwaite, TX.

Pallbearers were: Ben Harrell, Brent Harrell, Joel Perry, Kevin Treadwell, Jeff Thornton, Dale Thornton, Stephen Harrell, Weldon Harrell Jr.; Brian Treadwell, Raigen Thornton, Terry Thornton, Johnny Thornton. Honorary Pallbearers were: E.L. Dyal, Bill Cockrell and Ray Hall.
