Several 4-H activities/projects are starting up this month or soon. To help you understand the projects, here is a little information. Any project or activity you are interested in call the Co. Extension Office at 372-5416 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
4-H Shooting Sports
This project meets twice a month from September to May. Youth who want to participate in this project have to participate in two mandatory safety classes. The safety classes are only offered once a year. They will be offered this fall. If you have a youth interested call the extension office at 372-5416 and register your child. Once the youth have attended the safety classes, they participate in practice sessions twice a month. Each practice session lasts about 1 ½ hours. Youth will improve their shooting abilities and can compete in fun competitions in Brownwood, Brady, etc. Some rifles are available to use for you who do not own a rifle. It is very important that the rifle size matches the height and weight of a youth. Mark Hedley is the project manager for the Shooting Sports Project.
This project also meets twice a month on Saturday’s following shooting sports. The required safety class is fairly short and can be done the same day of the practice if prior arrangements have been made. In September archery is meeting Saturday September 11
