The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met September 2, 2010 for the monthly business meeting with the President, Anita Miles, giving a report on the wonderful progress of Martha Burnham since her recent spinal surgery, calling on Hattie Rogers to open the meeting with prayers of thanksgiving. She also had a sad report on Vivian McCall who is in Scott & White Hospital and is not doing well and asked for her family to be remembered in our prayers.

The Secretary, Jo Anne Hardy, read the minutes from July and August and they were approved as read.

The Treasurer, Bobbie Churchill, gave the financial report.

Hattie Rogers gave a financial report from the concession stand.

Sandee Hartley, 4-Ball Chair, reported that there will be no tournament this month.

The Nominating Committee Chair, Sandee Hartley, gave an explanation as to the slate of officers. The committee has concluded due to the small number of members the officers will keep their positions for the coming year. This was the opinion of the membership. This will be voted on in October.

The meeting adjourned for play day with the Chair for September, Hattie Rogers, calling for a game of "Best At Something", one point for hitting your drive in the fairway, one point for being on the green in regulation, one point for a one putt, minus one point for being in a sand trap, one point for loosing your ball, and one point for a three putt.

First Place went to Anita Miles, who also scored the Low Gross for the day, Second Place went to Sandee Hartley, and Third Place to Hattie Rogers. Janet Hoyt had one of her best rounds of the summer and scored the Low Net for the day and Becky Hardin chipped in to win the chip in pot. Jo Ann Snow, Jo Anne Hardy, and Dorothy Sterner rounded out the competition.

The San Saba Pecan Classic 4-Lady Tournament will be September 11, 2010 and it is not too late to enter a team. Please call Anita Miles at 325-372-3581. It is a great tournament with lots of prizes, food, and fun!

Six ladies, Hattie Rogers, Jo Ann Snow, Jo Anne Hardy, Sandee Hartley, Marilyn Kerr, and Anita Miles will be attending the Texas Senior Amateur Ladies Golf Association Tournament in Glen Rose, Texas on October 5-6, 2010. This tournament hosts ladies over 50 from all over Texas and has a full slate of participants. It is held twice a year at various golf courses in Texas and the ladies always look forward to these events. In the mean time back at the ranch, they’d better be practicing and "swinging!"
