San Saba Senior Center’s Recycled Card Project
Thursday, August 26, 2010 • Posted August 26, 2010

The San Saba Senior Center has started a recycled greeting card project as a fundraiser. The proceeds will fund an even bigger project, the San Saba Senior Center Memorial Gardens. The card project called Recycled Creations, utilizes donated all-occasion greeting cards to create beautiful "new" cards. Volunteers meet every Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Center to work on the cards. The cards sell for 25 cents or a donation of any amount. Anyone wishing to donate old greeting cards, colored card stock, new envelopes (all sizes), scrapbooking papers, etc., please contact Linda Mixon, Center Director, at 325-372-5833. The project is open to anyone who would like to volunteer their time and creativity. It’s really a lot of fun, too.

A planning committee for the memorial gardens is being organized. The Center has a large area adjacent to the building that will be used to create a wonderful gift to the community and a treasured reminder of the ways in which all of our lives have been touched by those we have loved and lost. If you would like to make a donation to the memorial gardens, please contact the Center at 705 E. Storey, 325-372-5833.
