On the morning of August 21st, in Richland Springs, the home of T.E. and Virginia Parson was burned and was a total loss. When San Saba County Sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene the home was fully engulfed in flame. Richland Springs, San Saba and Elm Grove fire departments, along with numerous citizens fought the blaze to keep it from spreading, and their efforts were successful on that count, but the Parsons lost their home and two motor homes in the fire.

The Sheriff's Office would like to thank all the fire departments, San Saba EMS and all those individuals who helped with everything from fighting the fire to working traffic and bringing water during this dangerous fire.
