Sunday night altercation injures two, brings four charges

On Sunday night the San Saba Police Department, assisted by the San Saba Sheriff's Department responded to a fight in progress on West Lewis Street. Two subjects were injured in the altercation and required medical attention. One of the subjects received serious injuries from being assaulted and was airlifted to Brackenridge Hospital in Austin. The fight involved at least six subjects. Two of the persons involved were transported for medical attention and three were placed into the San Saba County Jail.

Two of the men were charged with disorderly conduct, fighting in public, and one subject was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The man who is alleged to have committed aggravated assault is out on a $30,000.00 bond and the other two subjects paid fines for the violations. One other subject who fled the scene was identified and is being charged with the discharge of a firearm in the City limits. This suspect discharged the firearm into the air and not at any person.
