The Methodist Campground meeting went off as planned despite the heat. The Lometa Methodist church members attended and the High Valley Baptist church members attended the Sunday service.

The Henniger reunion was held at the San Saba Civic Center Saturday, with about 55 members of the family attended. Lola Morris was the oldest member

to attend. The family of Moody and Ella Henniger was responsible for getting the reunion together. There was lots of good food and time spent with family

members catching up on all the news. Some members didn’t attend because of illness. The family held a silent auction to raise money for next year’s reunion. Doris Poe had made a quilt and tickets were sold, with Jane Clark

having the winning ticket for that item.

Louise Lively passed away this past week. Her funeral was Tuesday. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Deidra and children Sean and Ethan Nixon of The Woodlands were in last week visiting her parents and relatives. They also attended the Henniger Reunion.

Jeffery, Tanya and Ashley Chalfant of Cedar Park and Terry Marley of Katy was in over the weekend visiting parents Rufus and Tommye Cobern. Rufus

reported that while his grandson Garret Peters was visiting they sprayed about 15 acres of mesquites.

Ruby Hicks is on vacation in the Virgin Islands and while she has been gone OraBeth Hicks, and granddaughters’ Katherine Hicks and Elisabeth Bryant have been house sitting and tending to her pets. Jimma Hicks is back from her stay in Spain and ready to go back to school.

Happy birthday greetings go out to LaShonda Keen who will celebrate a birthday Monday, August 23, to Darrell Hers whose birthday is Tuesday, August 24.
