Alfreda Whitley

Alfreda Whitley of San Saba passed away Friday, August 13, 2010 at a local care facality.

Alfreda was born December 4, 1918 in Gillespie County the daughter of Edward Brown and Lydia Schlaudt. On December 17, 1938 Arthur Whitley and Alfreda Brown were united in marriage in San Saba County. Arthur preceded her in death on December 13, 2004. Alfreda was a housewife and a member of the Methodist Church.

Alfreda is survived by two sons, Arthur Ingram Whitley of Llano, and Frank Edward Whitley of Blanket. Two daughters, Julia Harrell and her husband Woodson of San Saba and Lynn Reeves and her husband Johnie of Richland Springs. Alfreda is also survived by grandchildren Ben Harrell; Stephen Harrell and his wife Dainn; Brent Harrell and his wife Leslie; Tracy Leverett and her husband Sammy; Kim Whitley; Damon Hargrove and his wife Teresa; Tamara Giadone; Johnna Frederick and her husband Mark; Dana Porter and her husband Rick and Shanna Washer and her husband Will; and 18 great grandchildren. Three brothers, Clayton Brown of Grapeland; Lee Brown of Magnolia and James Brown and his wife Becky of Houston. Two sisters, Louise McConnell of Austin; Ruth Thomsen of Apple Valley Cal.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Alfreda Whitley were held Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Ramsey, officiating. The interment will followed in the Spring Creek Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Lighthouse Hospice of Brownwood or to the San Saba County Volunteer EMS
