San Saba Garden Club August Yard of the Month - The San Saba Garden Club has awarded the August Yard of the Month to the home of Linda and Owen Parks at 505 Dry Street. This is the historic Campbell-Parks house, built in 1876, which was home to Owen’s great aunt, wife of John Campbell. It also served as a temporary Catholic Church prior to the construction of the church. The Parks have managed to keep their yard looking beautiful despite the heat this summer. Linda said that the landscaping has been an ongoing project since 1983, most dramatically changed two years ago when they removed four large pecan trees from the front yard, allowing in light so that Linda could grow flowers.
