The Richland Springs Board of Trustees held a budget workshop on August 9, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room in the cafetorium, and a special meeting afterward to propose a tax rate, and announce a public hearing on the tax rate and budget to be held August 23, 2010. The regular August board meeting was moved from August 16 to August 23, 2010.

The 2010-2011 Coyotes hit the practice field at 6:45 am on Monday, August 2nd and survived the first week of triple digit heat. The Coyotes will host the May Tigers at Richland Springs for a 9:00 a.m. scrimmage on Saturday morning. Come out and take a look at the 2010 squad and coaches.

Some teachers and staff will report to in-service this week, with all staff reporting on Monday, August 16th. Joe Huckestein will join the Richland Springs staff as middle school and high school science teacher. In addition to teaching, Mr. Huckestein has worked at the Texas Education Agency developing the science curriculum for all Texas school. He will be a great addition to our staff and will challenge our students academically.

The Richland Springs and Elm Grove Rodeos are history, and that means school is near. Students report August 23rd.

RICHLAND SPRINGS ISD Schedules Site-base Meeting

Parents of students in grades pre-K through 12 are invited to a 7:00 p.m. orientation and meeting on August 19, 2010 in the Richland Springs Cafetorium. Topics to be discussed will be the migrant program, Title 1 program, parent involvement program, and the 2010-2011 school year. Parent input for the school year is welcomed! Refreshments will be provided at the meeting.

Community involvement is the key to our success!
