Dr. Roy Lee, a San Saba physician filed suit in 33rd District Court against San Saba National Bank, bank president Mike Hinyard, and Jimmy Moore, administrator of San Saba Hospital. The reason for the $1.9 million suit is to get back what was wrongfully taken from him when the San Saba National Bank foreclosed on the hospital owned by Lee.
Actor Tommy Lee Jones and several world famous polo players will be in Llano as part of "Polo Night" which is set for July 27, at Llano American Legion Hall. Tommy Lee will serve as Master of Ceremonies at the event.
The Multiple Sclerosis Society has named Sheri Hernandez - Smyth the new Executive Director for the Central Texas Chapter.

P.M. (Pudge) Gage, who has been employed with the same firm, Jeff Byrd Grocery for 16 years, changed jobs this week, taking over a bread route between San Saba and Lampasas.
A movement has been started toward organizing a Youth Center in San Saba and preliminary organizational work will be done at a public meeting scheduled for Monday.
Slightly more than half of the county's school children who received the initial polio vaccination in April appeared last Friday to receive 2nd round of shots of vaccine.
M.J. Kuykendall of Cherokee has been named a distinguished student for the spring semester at Texas A&M College.

100 Years Ago - August 4, 1910
F.F. Edwards and W.R. Petty sold a bunch of 33 clean smooth mules to S.L. Murray and Jno. W. Walker.
Notice is hereby given that the County Commissioners Court of San Saba County, Texas, will receive until 10 o'clock in the forenoon on Wednesday the 17th day of August, 1910, sealed proposals for furnishing materials and performing labor required for the building of a fire-proof Court House at San Saba, Texas. All bids must be delivered, sealed, to the Judge of the County Court on or before the above time named. All bids shall be accompanied by a letter from a Surety company, stating that they will furnish bond for bidder if the work is awarded him.
F. Merritt and Mr. Temple, chief and division engineers of the Santa Fe railroad and a Mr. Duncan, Mr. Merritt's private secretary, were in San Saba, Thursday and Friday. They were on business with the right-of-way committee.
Henry Harkey and wife of Odessa, are here to visit Mr. Harkey's father and other relatives and will be at the fair this week.
