Mildred I. Chamberlain, 82 of Richland Springs passed away Saturday, August 7, 2010 at a local care facility. She was born June 10, 1928 in Richland Springs, Texas to James Walter Land and Hettie Inez Justice Land.

Mildred married John Hopkins on October 20, 1951 Llano, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 15, 1989. On July14, 1996 she married Lenard Chamberlain in Richland Springs, Texas. He preceded her in death on Sept 24, 2008.

Mildred was a member of the Church of Christ, a bookkeeper, telephone operator and a housewife.

Survivors include her brothers, Henry Land and his wife Gail of Cleveland, Tx.; and Lawrence Land of Brady; her sisters, Eura Dean Pappas and her husband Chris of Richland Springs, Tx.; and Dara Lord of Richland Springs. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husbands; her sisters, Lomagene Parks, Patsy Crockett, and Alice Land; and by a brother, James Land.

Visitation was held at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, August 9, 2010 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 10th, 2010 at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Conner, officiating. Interment followed in the Richland Springs Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Richland Springs Church of Christ or to the Cherokee Childrens Home.
