Thursday, May 22, 2008 • Posted May 22, 2008

The GED test will be given at Gatesville High School on June 10-11 in Room 22. To be able to take the test, you must register on Wednesday, June 4th, in Room 22 at Gatesville High from 5-7:30 p.m.

To register, you must bring your Texas driver's license or state or federal photo identification, Social Security card, and $65.00. Your identification will also be required when you take the test. Registration will take approximately 30 minutes to an hour. If the candidate is 17-years-old, they must be accompanied by a guardian at registration and bring withdrawal records from the last school attended.

If the candidate previously failed part or parts of the GED test between the years 2002 and 2008, they will pay $15.00 per part to retest. It must have been six months since the last test or present a letter from an instructor verifying that the candidate is ready to take the test again. A copy of the previous test scores will be required at registration. Anyone under the age of 18-years-old will also need to meet other qualifications.

The GED test will be given both days (June 10th and 11th) at 5:15 p.m. You must be present both days to complete the test. Photo identification is required at registration and both nights of testing. It usually takes about four (4) hours each night for the testing process.
