Monica and Samuel Baisden and Tiffany Suggs were in last weekend to visit Doug and Cyndi Suggs and to attend a party in honor of Sheila Pitcox, fiance of Jeremy Suggs. The party was in Fredericksburg.

The Cherokee Church of Christ hosted a dinner for the graduating seniors of Cherokee High School Sunday evening. Each graduate was presented a Bible.

The children and staff from Cherokee Home for Children spent Saturday at Fiesta Texas in San Antonio.

Delton and Valerie McGuire went to a wedding in Oklahoma. It was Valerie’s niece that got married.

Kasey Dobbs is in the Philippines visiting the Marvin Whitt family. Marvin and his family are missionaries there. Marvin is from San Saba.

Marty and Shirley Gray recently vacationed in Washington D. C.

Malania Jesko notified Cherokee friends that Royce will be coaching in May this coming year.

Becky Cockrum spent the weekend at her home in Cherokee. She reported that the family is doing really good.

The Cherokee High School Athletic Banquet was held at the Cherokee Home Pavilion. The high school athletes, faculty and parents were honored to have former Cherokee athlete, Stan Ball, as guest speaker, and Coach Roddy Maddox sharing words of encouragement. It was a wonderful evening.

The Cherokee Athletic Banquet was a great success thanks to everyone who came out to lift up our Cherokee Indians!

Officer Allen Brown and Officer Lisa Sloan spent the afternoon at the Austermann’s home last week getting to know 16 junior high students. After many hours of volleyball, games and just hanging out, Officer Brown talked with the kids about the effects of alcohol and drugs on young people today. He ended the evening by giving his personal testimony to the Cherokee Baptist Youth Group. Officer Brown is continually offering his services to youth and working to make San Saba County a better place.

Avery and Maurine Johnson, Kendall Johnson, Sue Rhoades, Lynda Randolph, Carolyn Perry and Cyndi Suggs attended Jimma Broyles’ wedding in San Saba last Saturday. Jimma was a beautiful bride.
