Nelneck of CASA to speak at Rotary Club meeting

Thursday, July 15th, the Rotary Club of San Saba will host Michael Nelneck, Exec. Director for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for the Highland Lakes Area, Inc.. Mr. Nelneck will discuss the role of CASA in the community and the role that volunteers can play in CASA.

CASA recruits, trains, and supervises court-appointed volunteers to advocate for children who come into the court system as a result of abuse and neglect. The organization serves five counties including Blanco, Burnet, Llano, Lampasas, and San Saba. In that area they have served over 1300 children.

The Rotary Club meets at noon each Thursday at Pepperbelly’s. Anyone who is interested in learning more about CASA or has an interest in serving our community is invited to attend.
