The Armadillo Football coaching staff hopes everyone is having a wonderful and safe summer. It seems as if we just finished school, but as football season approaches, I just wanted to share some dates and notes of interest with the community.

Armadillo Strength and Conditioning Camp is in its last week, and we have had a great camp. The weight room and field house will be closed Monday July 19th through Wednesday July 21st. It will open Thursday the 22nd. San Saba ISD and the Armadillo coaching staff will once again host Armadillo Football Camp. The camp is open to all incoming 3rd through 9th graders; it will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday July 27th through Thursday July 29th at Rogan Field. You may register your child on the morning of July 27th or you may come by the field house and pick up a form. The cost is $25.00 and each child receives a t-shirt along with instruction.

The first day of 2 a days for all high school football players is Monday August 2nd. 2 a day times will be from 7:00 – 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. each day. Middle School football begins the first day of school Monday August 23rd. Middle School football players may get fitted and equipment on Friday August 20th from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

I would like to remind all football parents about physicals and paper work. All of this must be turned in completed and signed on August 2nd. We will have a football parent meeting followed by Dillo football 101 on Thursday July 29th at 5:15 in the foyer of Armadillo Arena. I would encourage all parents or anyone interested to attend the information meetings. Dillo football 101 is a crash course on the in’s and out’s of the Dillo football program.

I would also like to invite everyone to plan on attending this years "coffee with the coach". This is held each Friday morning of the football season at 7:00 am at Alamo Pecan.
