The Board of trustees met Monday night in a special meeting to discuss Board/Supt expectations and district goals. The regular monthly meeting will be July 19. Teachers report for in-service/staff development on August 16th. Students have a little more summer left to relax and enjoy. Haustin Burkhart threw 5 TD passes and had 2 rushing TD’s in the 56-32 Division 1 win in the Texas Bowl at Garden City Saturday. Haustin was the overall MVP of the game. Haustin represented himself and Richland Springs well. Haustin will also travel to Lubbock this week to compete in the 6-man All Star Game on Friday, July 16 at 7:30.

Students report for the first day of school on August 23. Students have been on campus this summer preparing to retake TAKS tests in grades 5, 8, and 11. The last round of TAKS retests was this week. The end of TAKS testing brings closure to previous school year, as preparations for the next school year continue.

Haustin Burkhart represented Richland Springs in 6-man Texas Bowl on July 10 which pits Division 1 athletes against Division 2 athletes.

The July 10th Richland Springs Stars and Stripes celebration was fun. The fireworks display was second to none. Thanks to all that made this event such a success. Enjoy the summer!
