Thursday, July 15, 2010 • Posted July 15, 2010

Pedro Prado, 2010 honor graduate of San Saba High School, recently traveled to Oklahoma City to compete in the US National High School Mathematics Championship. The competition is sponsored by the American Society for Mathematics (ASM). ASM is dedicated to serving those who love and appreciate mathematics. It serves professors, teachers, students and other devotees alike.

Each year two national championships are held by ASM. One is held at Mathfest and is for college students. The other is held in Oklahoma City and is for high school students. Besides the competition, Pedro will be touring the Cowboy Hall of Fame and the Oklahoma City National Memorial.

The first round of competition will be held at the Omniplex on Saturday with the finals on Sunday afternoon.

Pedro is the son of Pedro Jasso & Juana Prado and will be attending Texas A&M in the fall, majoring in Civil Engineering.
