The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met July 1, 2010 for the monthly business meeting. The President, Anita Miles, called the meeting to order and the meeting was opened with prayer by the Club Chaplain, Nell McHorse. The Secretary, Jo Anne Hardy, read the May and June minutes and they were approved as read. The Treasurer, Bobbie Churchill, gave the financial report. Sandee Hartley, Traveling 4-Ball Chair, gave a report on the June tourney hosted by the San Saba Association. Other members present were Hattie Rogers, Jo Ann Snow, and Dorothy Sterner. Janet Hoyt brought a special guest, her granddaughter Erica Hoyt, but they missed the meeting as they came for golf and rushed to get in a few holes before the rains came. And the rains came! No golf.

San Saba River Golf Course was the scene of the annual Guys and Gals Tournament last weekend and had twelve pairs from San Saba participating. This was a larger turn out than usual and we had winners in the First Flight as Louis Cisneroz and his daughter, Megan, tied with ‘Chicken’ Thomas, from Brownwood but member of our club, and Christine Glover, daughter of Linda and Eddie Ragsdale so we claim her, for Third Place. Other teams were Sandra and Rick Baskin, Kelly and John Reavis, Sandee and Jim Hartley, Becky and Larry Hardin, Anna and Ralph Wilson, Olga and Tony Cantu, Cissy and Brad Williams, Shirley Hardin and Rick Wilson, Debbie Lee and Mike Ivy, and Anita Miles and David Potts. It was a great tournament with lots of fun and good golf. Several of the pairs were in contention and will be back next year! Perhaps they’d better do a little more practicing and a lot more "swinging!"
