Jessica Lynn Pierson of San Diego, California, and Nelson Burgess (Buddy) Bishop of Austin, Texas, were married on June 5, 2010, at 5:00 o’clock in the evening at the home of the bride’s parents in Trinidad, Colorado. The bride’s brother, Chris Pierson, officiated the outdoor ceremony.

The bride’s family hosted the dinner reception following the wedding on their tent-covered patio area. On the eve of the wedding, a picnic dinner was hosted by the groom’s family at the Trinidad Lake State Park.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael James Pierson of Trinidad. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dwayne Bishop of San Saba, Texas. Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a strapless dress of organza with crystal beading and pearls above and below the inset cummerbund. She carried a bouquet of large and small orange Gerber daisies. The tree-ringed setting included a view of Fisher’s Peak in the background.

The bride is a graduate of San Marcos High School, Abilene Christian University, Texas State University, and The University of Texas. Jessica is employed by San Diego State University as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education.

The groom is a graduate of San Saba High School and Texas Tech University. He is a certified Landscape Architect. Buddy has been accepted into San Diego State’s Master’s Degree program to study Mechanical Engineering. The couple honeymooned in Utah at Sundance and Salt Lake City, and will make their home in San Diego, California.
