Johnny Lyle Williams

Johnny Lyle Williams, age 84, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in Kerrville, Texas. He was born May 12, 1926 to Alexander H. and Minnie L. (Tally) Williams in Comanche, Texas.

Johnny joined the Navy in 1944 and was a service to our country during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946. He married Mary Pearl VanDyke on March 5, 1946. They had four children from this marriage. Mary Pearl passed away in 1962. Johnny married Annie B. Emerson August 18, 1978 in Brady. He worked for the railroad and the City of Brady as the water department supervisor and volunteered for the Fire Department until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and traveling.

Survivors are his wife, Annie Williams of Brady; son, Johnny Dale Williams and wife Delores of Brady; son, Rev. Calvin Williams and wife Thelma of San Saba; stepchildren, Pamala Polk and Billy of Pontotoc; Sandra Conner of Brady; Florence Nichols and John of Abilene; David Pittman and wife Jan of Brownwood; brother, L.C. Williams of Bangs; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Minnie Williams; wife, Mary Pearl (Van Dyke) Williams; daughter, Diane Williams; son, Alvin Williams; 7 brothers and 2 sisters.

Family visitation was Friday, June 25, 2010 from 6-8 pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral service was held on Saturday, June 26, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Liveoak cemetery.
