Marisol E. Gomez

Our most precious angel, TSgt Marisol E. Gomez lost her short battle with cancer June 22nd, 2010. She was born August 20th, 1978 in El Paso, Texas to Zenaida and Marcos S. Gomez, Jr.

She is survived by her parents, Zenaida and Marcos from Elgin, TX; her precious son, Eneas Velasquez, her ex-husband, Nicholas Vela-squez, and brother, Marcos S. Gomez, III from San Antonio, TX. Marisol is also survived by her loving grandparents, Florinda and Juan Surita, Sr. from San Saba, TX; Anita and Marcos S. Gomez, Sr. from San Angelo, TX; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Marisol served honorably for the USAF at Dover AFB in Delaware and later assigned to 433rd Reserve Airlift Wing and Joint Information Operations Warfare Center at Lackland AFB. She was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Southern Watch; during which she received the AF Commendation Medal, AF Achievement Medal (One Cluster), AF Good Conduct Medal (One Cluster) and the AF Longevity Medal for her meritorious support of our country. She was proud to serve our country and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, June 28, 2010 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 16075 N. Evans Rd., Selma, TX 78154, from 6~7 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
