The San Saba Tennis Association held a fundraiser tournament on Monday, June 14. The tournament was held to raise money to help with the cost of resurfacing the tennis courts. The Tennis Association was able to raise $500. The Tennis Association would like to thank the following people for playing in the tournament: Alonzo Calderon, Ron Pollard, Scotty Hibler, Felix Botello, David May, Jacob Cabrera, Marshall McIntosh, Michael Calderon, Morgan Jimenez, Mikayla Eden, Carter Eden, Joely Haverland, Cheray Haverland, Tayler Hibler, and Rosa Botello.
In men’s singles, Michael Calderon won first place, Ron Pollard won second place, and Marshall McIntosh won third place. In girls doubles and mixed doubles, Carter Eden and Joely Haverland won first place, Morgan Jimenez and Mikayla Eden won second place. In women’s doubles Cheray Haverland and Rosa Botello won first place and Tayler Hibler and Joely Haverland won second place. In the adult mixed doubles, Scotty Hibler and Tayler Hibler won first place, Rosa Botello and Ron Pollard won second place and Cheray Haverland and Jacob Cabrera won third place. In Men’s Doubles Alonzo Calderon and Michael Calderon won first place and David May and Marshall McIntosh won second place. Tournament director Ralph Cox would like to thank all the players who came out and contributed to the fundraiser.
The adult league is still going on Monday nights and the junior league on Tuesday nights. If you would like to play some tennis come on out.

The San Saba Tennis Association will be holding their annual junior tournament on July 30-31. The tournament is for ages 8 to 18 and there will be singles, doubles, and mixed doubles divisions. On a final note, we had one junior playing in the Mason Tournament this past weekend. Marshall McIntosh was defeated in the quarterfinals by a player from Wimberly 6-3, 4-6, 11-9. The player from Wimberly went on to win the tournament. Marshall and the boy from Wimberly teamed up in doubles and won consolation.
