The Richland Springs cafetorium hosted many events this spring. The air conditioned cafetorium hosted the spring band recital, one-act play presentation, junior/senior prom and sports banquet. The 8th grade graduation was one of the best decorated events ever to occur at Richland Springs. The Hawaiian theme included live plants and parrots and birds. Due to the large numbers of guests, the alumni banquet and 12th grade graduation were held in the air conditioned gym. Thanks to all who came and supported students at these events.

Several new teachers (yet to be named) will be employed by the district next year to replace Tony Dodson and Joel Yantis. Richland Springs is considering adding pre-K class for 4 year olds. A combination pre-K/Kindergarten class this next year would be taught by Linda Lane.

The Board of Trustees and administrators attended the Texas Association of School Boards’ Summer Leadership Institute in San Antonio on June 10, 11 and 12. School board members and administrators received valuable training and enjoyed the beautiful sights in San Antonio. The next Board of Trustees regular monthly meeting is scheduled for July 19, 2010 in the Board Room in the cafetorium. The Board of Trustees cordially invites residents to attend board meetings. There is a public forum at the beginning of board meetings that allows for public input. Your input is always welcomed, appreciated, and respected.

Community involvement is the key to our success!
