San Saba ISD Teachers in Training
Thursday, June 24, 2010 • Posted June 24, 2010

School is definitely NOT out for summer! On June 1 and 2 SSISD teachers spent two intense days learning more about their CSCOPE curriculum and how to enhance the curriculum with technology. Trainers from ESC 13 in Austin presented staff with two days of training that helped staff learn more about the technology they have to use in their classroom. The trainers taught staff how to make Web Pages, how to use podcasts as an instructional tool, how to use the SMART BOARD as an instructional tool and integrate it with CSCOPE lessons and much, much more. The staff also learned of the state mandated technology skills that teachers and students must learn and possess according to state law. Although this training was held at the school district, other staff have and will attend trainings across the state.

Teachers in elective areas in career and technology such Agriculture, Family Consumer Sciences, Technology and Building Trades are attending Foundation Training to implement the new Career and Technology Courses. Staff in the areas of Art, Music, PE, Spanish and other enrichment areas are attending various trainings to learn the latest in instructional practices to enhance their courses. Additionally, elementary staff attended a professional development opportunity provided by the City of San Saba that educates and provides a curriculum about recycling and supports the Keep San Saba and Keep Texas Beautiful imitative. San Saba teachers and staff are working hard to learn and refine their instructional practices to provide the best instructional environment for the students of San Saba ISD.
