Thursday, June 24, 2010 • Posted June 24, 2010

The Wallace Creek Extension Education Club met Thursday, June 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the clubhouse.

Lynn Blankenship called the meeting to order. The roll call was "When was the last time you cleaned out your medicine cabinet and what did you do with the contents?" We need to take precaution in disposing of certain medications, when in doubt contact your pharmacy.

The program was "Talking to Your Doctor", presented by Faye Currie. She handed out booklets to help us with suggestions of making a list of questions to ask the doctor; also the booklet had a place we could list our past illnesses, surgeries, the medication and dosage we take. There was open discussion with personal input of our past experiences. One suggestion was to write your health information and keep it in your purse in case of an emergency. It was a very helpful program.

The minutes were read from the last meeting. The treasurer's report was given. Both were approved. The council report was given. The EE Camp will be in Brownwood on August 10-11. The state meeting will be September 14-16 in Wichita Falls. Plans for the annual Ice Cream Supper were discussed, with no final date reached. Fund-raising was discussed. Jackier Doner announced the July 4th Fireworks at Mill Pond Park would have sausage wraps for sale.

The meeting was adjourned.

The refreshments were served by Marilyn Miller. Those present were Lynn Blankenship, Doris Cates, Jackie Doner, Noma Fitzgerald, Imogene Hawkins, and Margie Osborn.

The next regular meeting will be Septmeber 16 at the Wallace Creek clubhouse at 2:00 p.m. with Margie Osborn as hostess.
