What would you do if an 1100 pound cow stepped on the ankle of one of your best friends? How would you console him as he recovered from painful surgery and faced a lengthy rehabilitation period?

Well, if the patient was Henry Warren and you were the Methodist Women, you’d have a GREAT BIG PARTY!

On Friday, June 18, the Methodist Women celebrated Henry and his wife and caregiver, Trish, at Pepperbelly’s Restaurant. The theme of the party was "A Cow Stepped on Henry’s Foot." The event featured theme-appropriate decorations, gifts, and music.

Barbara Gilger and Monica Shahan provided the decorations which included a stuffed cow centerpiece, authentic-looking barbed wire and homemade chocolate cow patties.

Carol Littlefield presented gifts which included a cow-pattern apron (Henry’s a great cook) and a cow-studded t-shirt which read "Who’s the BOSS now?" Lesa Schulze created a custom-designed get well card.

The highlight of the event was the song written by Pat Belk and performed to the tune of "Happy Birthday to You." The words are:

Henry Warren and His Cow

Got Entangled Somehow

And His Leg Took a Beating

But It’s Much Better Now

If you missed the party but want to join the fun, practice this clever song and give Henry a call with your rendition!
