Domestic violence isn’t something people talk about, yet all those affected need help. Folks don’t like to think of their children or grandchildren being latch-key kids, but if both parents have to work, where do the children go and who looks after them? What’s a community to do?

On June 25 "music therapy" will go to a new level at A Joyful Noise Celebration. The six hour event will offer many styles of music with the common theme of praising God. Artists committed to performing include Crystal Lyons, Jenny Taylor, Wes Nickson and Jerialice Arsenault.

Area businesses contributing to the endeavor are; Opa’s Farm, Brady National Bank, Designs by Deborah, James Long Real Estate, HOT Ford, Lubke’s and Brady Storage Concepts. Additionally, several individuals have made cash donations or provided items for a silent auction. Young’s Jewelry has donated a cross necklace as a raffle prize.

The two beneficiaries, The Haven domestic shelter and Casa Care after school program, will be selling concessions. Javier Paniagua, of Brady Sonic, is donating pickles, onions and dinner packets, while Frito-Lay is providing chips.

Admission is free but a love offering will be greatly appreciated. Come and hear the love. The event will be held at the Ed Davenport Civic Center, Hwy. 87, northwest side of Brady on June 25, 4-10 p.m.
