San Saba ISD recognizes Retirees
Thursday, June 10, 2010 • Posted June 10, 2010

On Friday, May 28, 2010, San Saba ISD staff met at 1:00 pm to enjoy lunch together and to recognize staff retiring from education and/or leaving the ISD for other positions.

Receiving plaques for their service were Celia Bell, Bruce Sowers and Bill Harlow. Combined, these extraordinary educators have one hundred and one (101) years of experience in education. Celia Bell began her teaching career in 1978 and has taught in San Saba since 1988. Bruce Sowers began his career in 1980 and came to San Saba in 1999. Bill Harlow began teaching in San Saba in 2002, but his first year in education was in 1969. Renice Burnham will be retiring as well. Ms. Burnham has served the ISD for 24 years and decided after the school year was complete to retire from education. Ms. Burnham has taught at SSISD all of her 24 years. Total, these educators dedicated 125 years to the school children of Texas and have dedicated 65 years of their educational career to SSISD students.

We appreciate so very much the work and dedication of these school teachers and wish them much happiness in their retirement. The impact they have had on children will be seen for generations to come! THANK YOU, Teachers!
