Thursday, June 10, 2010 • Posted June 10, 2010

Doug Conn has been involved with youth development programs for over 40 years. He was instrumental in the creation and success of several major pageant systems, and in 2006, he realized a long-held dream and began his own system. That system is the Today’s Girl Youth Organization.

Mr. Doug, as he is so affectionately called, knows that there is more to a young lady than just a pretty face. His hope was to play a part in encouraging girls to not only develop their talents and strive to always be at their best, but to also develop the leaders of tomorrow. He believes that our youth today need programs that teach them to give to others and make a difference in the world. He knows that a crown is a responsibility, and that young ladies lucky enough to be honored with a crown must step up to that responsibility and be a shining example for all those around her.

Mr. Conn has quite an extensive and most interesting background. His mellifluous voice has been heard throughout the country on television, radio, and in front of groups as large as 6,000. A popular talk show guest in the South, Mr. Conn has appeared on numerous programs discussing topics ranging from self-image to fashion, beauty and time management. He is in constant demand as a lecturer for modeling schools and agencies. In addition, he is known for his successful promotion of several fashion models who now work throughout the world.

A Master of Ceremonies, par excellence, Mr. Conn has hosted televised model award shows, scores of beauty pageants, and numerous other special events. A dynamic and charismatic personality, he is also largely responsible for the successful exposure of his speaking engagements in both the local and regional media. The consummate media liaison, his spin on anything related to beauty has been documented in feature articles in newspapers and magazines throughout the South.

As a recognized expert and consultant on image and self-projection, he has counted among his clients many socially prominent men and women. As a fashion coordinator, he has worked with the finest and most successful designers in the fashion industry, including Ralph Lauren, Albert Nipon, Bill Blass, Geoffry Beane, and Gloria Vanderbilt. His reputation is so well-known that Newsweek Magazine has quoted Mr. Conn as a pageant authority.

We are fortunate to have Mr. Conn offering classes on Wednesday, June 23, on Fashion Modeling, Skin Care and Make-up, and Communication Skills.
