Elm Grove Echoes
Thursday, June 3, 2010 • Posted June 3, 2010

Last Tuesday night we had a very hard rain, producing 4.1 inches here at our house. It did not cover much territory , however. Elm Grove received 2 inches and some places in between Richland Springs and Elm Grove got none. "Isolated showers" had been predicted but that was definitely more than a shower. There are still some pretty wild flowers. The pastures have now turned bright yellow instead of blue.

We made a trip to Ozona to visit relatives a couple of weeks ago and it was green all the way.

Another new month kicks off this week. The year is already half gone. Busy Bee quilters will meet on June 8th. The 42 tournament will be June 12th at Richland Springs. The community meeting will be June 19th and Marilyn Suber and I will be the hostesses.

The Elm Grove VFD will hold their third annual fundraiser on June 12th at the community center. Mark your calendar and come and join us for some good fried fish with all the trimmings. There will also be an auction to help raise money for the VFD. Come and help this much needed organization.

Marilyn, Michael and I went to Brady last Wednesday night for Jaxon Tucker’s rite of passage from Cub Scout to Boy Scout. It was a nice ceremony. Now, this Wednesday, we will go back to Brady to observe Jesse Tucker graduating from Kindergarten. What would we do without all these grandkids to keep up with? We are expecting another one out in San Angelo just any day now.
