Mary M. Harper, 85, of San Saba, Texas, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010, in a local care facility. Mary was born April 2, 1925, in Butler County, Alabama, to Clarence Jerome Porterfield and Emily Coswell Porterfield. Mary married Herman Boyd McCoury in February 1946, in San Angelo, Texas. Herman preceded her in death on October 21, 1963. Mary married Paul L. Harper in August, 1962, in Brownwood, Texas. Paul preceded her in death in November 1980.

Mary was a member of the Bellplaine Baptist Church.

Mary is survived by her children ,Henry Earl McCoury of Brownwood, Texas; Bo McCoury and his wife Patricia of San Saba, Texas; Nelda Sue Parham and her husband Bobby of Anderson, South Carolina; and her sisters, Annie Coker of Greenville, Alabama; Martha Schrmal of Mountain View, California; and Dorothy McHugh of Macon Georgia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Bo McCoury Jr. and his wife Mandy; Misty Moody and her husband Sgt. Brian Moody; Gaston McCoury, Aaron McCoury and his wife Katie; Jeffrey Smith, Earl White, Juestion McCoury, and Felisa McCoury. Also, great-grandchildren, Kristan McCoury, Kelsea Jo McCoury, Christopher Moody, Nicholas Hull, Christian L. Hull, Matthew Hull, Abigail Hull, Janet Gibson McCoury, Chancy McCoury, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, two brothers, two sisters, one daughter-in-law and one great-granddaughter.

Services will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at 3:00 PM at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Boykin Officiating. Interment will follow at the Chappel Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to Camp Buckner Children’s Home, 3835 FM 2342, Burnet, Texas 78611.
