The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met May 6, 2010 for the monthly business meeting with the following ladies present: Sandy Hartley, Hattie Rogers, Bobbie Churchill, Becky Hardin, Dorothy Sterner, Jo Anne Hardy, Janet Hoyt, Jo Ann Snow, Eileen Roberts, and Anita Miles.

The President, Anita Miles, called the meeting to order and gave reference to this day being the World Day of Prayer and asked Hattie Rogers to lead the ladies in prayer for our nation.

The Secretary, Jo Anne Hardy, read the minutes and they were approved with a correction on the Traveling 4 Ball report.

The Treasurer, Bobbie Churchill, gave the financial report.

Hattie Rogers gave a report on the concession stand. It was a very successful project and the ladies will be considering sponsoring one more tournament during the summer.

All committees reported on the Pecan Classic 4 Lady tournament scheduled for May 15, 2010. The ladies voted unanimously to raise the prize awards $5.00 for each place and to give ornate golf pins for closest to the pin. If you haven’t entered your team please do so as soon as possible by contacting Anita Miles, 325-372-3581.

The ladies adjourned for play day with the chair for May, Bobbie Churchill, calling for a game of converting one hole on each side back to par less your handicap.

First Place went to Dorothy Sterner who had her best round of the summer, scored the low net for the day, and chipped in to split the chip in pot with Anita Miles, who also chipped in. Anita also scored the low gross for the day. Second place was a tie between Hattie Rogers and Jo Ann Snow.

The ladies are gearing up for the upcoming tournament. They plan to practice the scramble next week on ladies day in anticipation of the tournament. All of the ladies are playing better golf and scoring better, which makes us all hopeful for a win on Saturday! We have been "swinging!"
