San Saba County History Vol. II now offered at a special price

The San Saba County Historical Commission is pleased to announce a special sale on Vol. II, San Saba County History 1856-2001. The book is dedicated to the pioneer families of San Saba County and their descendants. The book was published in 2002. It contains family histories, county activities, events and memorials honoring county residents. These histories were written by family members who shared the good times as well as the bad times of their families including the joys and sorrows that the early pioneer settlers experienced.

A special military section honors San Saba County men and women who served their country in times of war and peace. The military section begins with a tribute to Sion R. Bostick who fought in the Texas Revolution and captured Santa Anna at the Battle of San Jacinto in 1836. Other listings include the Civil War, the Spanish American War, World War I and II, the Korean Conflict, the Vietnam War, and Desert Storm.

The San Saba History Book Vol. II, 1856-2001 may be purchased for $60.00 per volumn from the San Saba Historical Commission. Books are available at both the Rylander Library and the San Saba County Museum. Books may be ordered on line jerlyn@centex.net. Postage and handling will be extra.
