We at Off the Beaten Path Ministries are very excited to be partnering with Allen Brown & the Sheriff’s Department as well as Chief Riggs and the SS Police Department in addressing the problem of family abuse in San Saba County. Working together, as a community, we will make a difference!

Here are some of the services OTBPM is offering:

I. Temporary/Emergency Shelter for victim (female or male), and children (until Abigail’s House is ready, we have places of safety available that actually offer a safer place of refuge than a known facility would offer.)

II. Christian Certified/Qualified Counseling/Mentoring

III. Victim’s Liaison

A. Assist Law Enforcement with victim transportation to a safe place.

B. Assist/guide victim in the filing of a protective order and assault charges on perpetrator (working in conjunction with Jennifer Fleming, Crime Victims Coordinator in the County Attorney’s Office), as well as encourage the victim to follow through with the charges.

IV. Criminal Justice Support

A. Transport if needed and/or accompany victim to any court appearances.

V. Resources and Referrals

VI. Sexual Assault Hospital Accompaniment

VII. Provide follow-up services.

VIII. Christ-centered Program available for Batterer.

In addition to the above services, Off the Beaten Path Ministries, Inc. works to educate the Community (secular and church) about the Dynamics of Family Abuse in an effort to raise awareness in San Saba County and beyond.

We do this by placing articles in the local newspaper, personal interviews on radio stations, TV station, speaking to churches, women’s groups, community organizations, placing posters in as many public places as allowed, fliers and brochures placed in physicians’ offices, pharmacies, restaurants, local businesses, etc.

It’s our desire to stop the cycle of Family Abuse and strengthen the families of San Saba County!

Off the Beaten Path Ministries, Inc is a 501c3 organization reaching out to families affected by family violence.
