Her teaching career started at the age of twelve as an assistant teacher at Starlet Dance Studio; within a year, Miss Thomas was teaching her own classes and, later, had her own studio where she taught students dance and dance movement to accompany their vocal performances.
Lana Thomas has spent her last two summers and occasional holidays working at Horseshoe Bay Resort as a tennis coach, camp counselor, and working the putting and tennis pro shop. She continues to work as a coach at various tennis centers around Oklahoma. She spent last spring working for Earl Wine Tennis Center in Oklahoma City, and then began working at Westwood Tennis Center in Norman, Oklahoma this fall. She has continued to grow her relationship with many of the tennis family’s attending the club and is now babysitting for several of the family’s in Norman.
Miss Thomas competed in pageants for eleven years winning several national, state, talent, and interview awards. She enjoyed the interview and platform process so much that she plans a career in broadcasting and is currently working on her minor in broadcast communication so she can go on to get her masters degree in communications.
