Commissioners meet: approve budget amendment for EMS
Thursday, May 6, 2010 • Posted May 6, 2010

The San Saba County Commissioners Court met at 1 p.m. on April 28th in the County Judge’s Chambers. County Judge Byron Theodosis called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone to the Court. Commissioner Rickey Lusty gave the invocation followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags.

Reagan Burnham addressed the Court with the information that the petition to sell alcoholic beverages in the San Saba City limits was in the auditor’s office being processed. The petition has more than the required signatures and will be coming to the Commissioner’s Court for a vote before it is put on the ballot in November. Burnham also had a question about the new website that will be taken care of when the old website is deleted.

The Commissioners approved the following:

1. Resolution #2010-01 regarding Texas Department of Transportation, National Bridge Inventory Structure #232060AA137001. This project will be funded 80% federal, 10% state, and 10% county (covered by work match - county pays zero). The bridges are on County Roads 202 and 146.

2. Selected the bid of $1,500 (lowest of three bids) for Asbestos and Lead Paint testing that is necessary for the county courthouse restoration.

3. Conservation contract in Precinct 3.

4. The bills to be paid presented by County Treasurer.

Lois Cook has been hired in the Tax Accessors Office and added as a new employee.

Commissioner Lusty led the discussion regarding a letter from the Appraisal District stating changes in the Road and Bridge exemptions.

Judge Theodosis reviewed legal papers for easements for water lines. The Commissioners will amend the budget $27,500 (City will also budget $27,500) to the County EMS as passed at a recent meeting with the EMS and City officials.

The next meeting of the Commissioners Court will be Monday, May 10 at 9 a.m.

Judge Theodosis adjourned the meeting. Those in attendance were: County Judge, Byron Theodosis; Administrative Assistant, Cathi Miles; County Commissioners: Roger McGehee, Kenley Kroll, Rickey Lusty, Otis Judkins; County Clerk, Kim Wells; County Treasurer, Gayla Hawkins; Justice of the Peace, Les Dawson; Co.
