Pauline McCarty

Pauline McCarty, 91, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at a care facility in Comanche, Texas. She was born January 14, 1919, in Floydada, Texas, to Thomas Henry Adair and Mary Ann Spence. Pauline married Rex V. McCarty in San Saba County on December 21, 1938. Rex preceded her in death on February 25, 2009.

Pauline was a member of the Baptist Church and the San Saba Historical Society.

Pauline is survived by her son Jimmy McCarty and his wife Barbara of Dripping Springs, Texas; her daughters Bobbie Brown and her husband Tom of Comanche, Texas; and Mary Ann Easley and her husband Steve of Carson City, Nevada. She is also survived by her grandchildren Terry Don McCarty, Lee Ellen Hunger and her husband Joe Bob; Steve Brown and his wife Lori; Karen Originales and her husband John; Amanda Waits, Mac Easley, Jack McCarty, Tracy Holder and her husband James; Jason McCarty and his wife Jesse; Leslie Ann McCarty, and Joanna McCarty. Pauline is also survived by her great-grandchildren Jackson Mayer, Weston Mayer, Kamryn Mayer, Books Brown and his wife Kary; Royal Brown, Ariel Brown, Angelica Diaz, Isaiah McCarty, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son Lonnie McCarty.

Services were held Monday, May 3, 2010, at 2:00 PM at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craig Curry officiating.

Visitation was Sunday, May 2, 2010, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home.

Interment followed at the China Creek Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the San Saba Historical Society.
