We had another .3 inch of rain the past week, but have so far escaped the thunder storms that have been predicted. I sure hope to not have any of those tornadoes like they are having to the north of us.

We had heard so much about the abundance of wildflowers to the south, so last Saturday, Marilyn and I joined up with Amy Tucker and the kids and we journeyed to Fredericksburg and had lunch. Marilyn and the kids and I came back through Llano and Amy went back to Brady. It was a pretty drive but we all agreed that our flowers here are just as pretty.

The Cox Cemetery assoc. meeting will be held this Saturday at 9:30 AM. Memorials or donations may be sent to June Beakley 1557 CR 448 Rochelle, Texas 76872. The Holt Cemetery meeting was cancelled last week.

We want to invite all of you to come to the picnic. If the weather allows, there will be horseshoes and washer pitching. There will be games for the children. We are expecting live music to be provided, and we are hoping for Mr. Weldon Faught to be there with his wagon and beautiful horses. I plan to take another ride on that wagon if he is there. That is the highlight of the day for a lot of us. If you are new to the area, we especially invite you. It is a good time to get acquainted with all the area folks.
