Mission San Saba 2010 preparations begin
Thursday, April 29, 2010 • Posted April 29, 2010

Plans are presently underway for Mission San Saba 2010. The goal of Mission San Saba since 2004 has been to bless a local family each year by providing labor and supplies for the renovation of their home. Please mark your calendar for this year's mission to be held June 6-12.

The steering committee has selected the home of Bill and Melba Temples, 505 South High, as the recipient of the 2010 project. In previous years, San Saba County citizens have been very generous in their donations of labor, food for workers, supplies, and financial support.

As Mission San Saba begins its seventh season, team planners are in hopes of taking this year's Mission to another level of participation. Individuals, organizations, and/or businesses in the county are being encouraged to volunteer small segments of time. Portions of time as small as two hours, 1/2 day, or a whole day are being encouraged for citizens who desire to participate but have a limited time schedule. Of course anyone is always welcome to bring a hammer and/or paint brush and just drop by.

If you or your organization are interested in supplying a meal for the workers, building supplies, financial support, or in learning more about how and when you may volunteer, please notify Donna Blossman, 623-5429 or 372-1070. A tax deductible receipt will be supplied upon request.

In the near future, the annual community-wide garage sale will be conducted in support of this year's mission project.
