San Saba Masonic Lodge to meet Saturday evening

The Freemasons of San Saba Masonic Lodge No. 612 will hold their stated meeting on Saturday evening, May 1st. A main course meal of brisket, and chicken will be provided by Past Master Roger N. McGehee. Supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. Members are asked to bring a complimentary covered side dish, bread, salad and/or dessert. Lodge will open at about 7:00 p.m.

After the meal various service awards will be presented.

60 Year Award - Reuben E. Senterfit

50 year Award - Lamar Johanson

40 year Award - James Bruce Brumley

40 Year Award - Olen Burt Holland

25 Year Award - Edward Doss Jones

25 Year Award - James E. Wilson

Family and Friend of these recipients' are encouraged to come and be present during the meal and ceremony in their honor. Former District Deputy Grand Master Gary Vogul of Masonic District No. 70, will be on hand to present each with his pin and certificate. Cameras and pictures will be allowed inside the lodge room.

After the ceremony the lodge will resume business and the charter will be draped in the memory of Bros. Billy Ray Freeland and Lee R. Geldmeier for the next 30 days.

Brother Freeland was born 7 March 1951 and was made an EA - 5 August 1972, FC - 11- September 1972, and MM - 4 November 1972 in San Saba Lodge No. 612. He passed from this world on 13 April 2010 and was buried at the San Saba City Cemetery with full Masonic honors on Saturday, 17 April 2010.

Brother Geldmeier was born 18 July 1915 and was made an EA - 9 January 1947, FC - 25 March 1947, and MM - 1 May 1947 in San Saba Lodge. He served three different lodges as Chaplain; San Saba Lodge in 1974, Cotulla No. 892 in 1965 and Mosser Lodge No. 912 in 1949. He passed on 15 October 2005 and was buried in Riesel, Texas.

The Worshipful, Master reminds all members to bring their community service reports for the month of March and submit to the secretary. All members are encouraged to attend.
