San Saba area Christian Home Schoolers help out at Senior Center
Thursday, May 1, 2008 • Posted May 1, 2008

Several months ago, a group of home schooling parents joined together to form a support group called San Saba Area Christian Home Schoolers. This group has many activities including park days, field trips, and Mom’s night out. A sub-group called His Helping Hands has been recently developed for the purpose of serving the community. They have a monthly meeting and assigned officers that will rotate every six months.

Their first project was a success on Friday, April 25th at the San Saba Senior Center. The children were quite determined as they helped serve the meals, took up trays, and cleaned up afterwards. While they did work very hard, they also had a lot of fun visiting with the nice folks attending.

Additionally, the group is planning to benefit the Senior Center by having a food drive May 5th -22nd and a fundraiser in July. Food donations would be greatly appreciated and can be dropped off at Coyote One Stop (Richland Springs), Home Chiropractic Clinic (San Saba), Bad Bob’s Bend Store (Bend), and The Ice Cream Station (Cherokee).
