Two Lady Dillo Tracksters competed at the Regional Meet this past weekend in Abilene. Haylee Oliver cleared 4’10" to finish 10th in the High Jump and Danessa Vasquez ran a personal best of 5:36 in the 1600 to finish 4th in a very tough field.

Danessa beat her district competitors from Wall and Ballinger in the race as well. She rebounded quite well from her 800 race the day before. I think nerves got to Danessa as she ran slower in the 800 than she had all year but she came back like a champ in the 1600.

Haylee jumped really well to start off the competition as she cleared her first three jumps on her first try. She had good attempts at 5' but couldn’t get over this height.

Congrats to these ladies and to Coach Bowden for her work with them as well. I would also like to thank Coach Glidewell and Welch for their work with all girls in the field events this year and to Coach Rundell for his work with our 7th and 8th graders this year.
