Mission San Saba 2008 Gearing Up
Thursday, May 1, 2008 • Posted May 1, 2008

June 8-14, 2008 will be the 5th annual Mission San Saba service project. Each year, volunteers from around Central Texas come together for a week and provide a local family with needed repairs on their home. This year, Mission San Saba volunteers will spend their week at the home of Carl and Dorothea Casbeer. For some time now, Carl has battled to maintain his health. We are extremely excited to get an opportunity to bless the Casbeer family.

Mission San Saba is a community wide effort and many volunteers have received a bigger blessing than they have given the past four years. Everyone, ages 16 to adult, are encouraged to take part in this wonderful service to our community. Youth groups are welcome as well. Room and board will be provided free of charge for those traveling to participate.

It takes a year to plan such a project and Mission San Saba works solely on donations and volunteers. All donations are welcomed and appreciated.

A garage sale will be held Saturday, May 3rd, at The Father's House. You can donate items to this sale on Friday evening at The Father's House or call Donna Blossman to pick up items.

Also benefiting Mission San Saba will be a brisket sandwich lunch on Sunday, May 4th, at the San Saba courthouse.

All proceeds from the garage sale and the brisket lunch will go to Mission San Saba for the purchase of building supplies. There is also an account set up at City National Bank for receipt of donations.

For more information, please call Donna Blossman at 325/623-5429.
