San Saba JV Baseball Report
Thursday, April 22, 2010 • Posted April 22, 2010

On Tuesday, April 13, the San Saba JV baseball team went over to Early for a district game. The Armadillos started off the game with back to back triples by Ryan Guidroz and JT Mathis. Other big hits by Russell Lowe, Tanner Hawkins, Josh Wright, and JT Holland led to a huge first inning. We batted all the way around and pushed 6 runs across the plate. Ryan Guidroz took the mound with the Dillo Defense behind him. Early also struck the ball very well. Two doubles and a couple of singles in the first inning also scored two runs for the Longhorns. In the second inning both pitchers and defenses held the other team in check, creating a scoreless inning for both sides. In the third and fourth innings, a triple by Wil Sloan and other hits by Russell Lowe, Michael McKinnerney, Josh Wright, and BJ Harbour got five more runs for the Armadillos making the score San Saba – 11, Early – 4. A couple of hits, a walk or two allowed the Longhorns to score a couple of more. However, the defense made some routine plays to protect the large lead and secured the win 11-6. This win made the pitcher of record, Ryan Guidroz, 2-3 on the year and 1-2 in district games.

Our games Saturday at Goldthwaite were rained out. So, the win at Early brought the season record to 9-5-1 and 5-3 in district play. Our last two games of the season will be on the road. Friday, April 23, we will play at Coleman, following the varsity game which will begin at 4:30. We will also play the next day, Saturday, April 24, at Dublin at 4:30. We thank you for all of your support.
