Thursday, April 22, 2010 • Posted April 22, 2010

The Wallace Creek EE Club met Thursday, April 15th at 2:00 p.m. at the clubhouse.

Carolyn McDowell gave the program on Super Foods. Super Foods are nutritional powerhouses that occur in natural foods. When you make nutritious choices you're doing your body a favor. Some of the foods are apples, avocados, broccoli, blueberries, cranberries, dark chocolate, nuts, seaweed, salmon, soy, tea, whole grains and sweet potatoes. Moderation of these foods is important, a well balanced diet and exercise are important. Quinoa, new to our group, may be added.

Lynn Blankenship called the meeting to order. The roll call was "What is your favorite spring flower?" Most people said bluebonnets and irises. The minutes were read and approved. We had an estimated treasurer's report. The group discussed the council report. The main topic was the May Event. The May Event will be on Wednesday, May 12, at the United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The salad luncheon will be by donation. Everyone was encouraged to have their cultural arts project finished.

The meeting was adjourned.

The refreshments were served by Imogene Hawkins. Those present were Lynn Blankenship, Doris Cates, Noma Fitzgerald, Imogene Hawkins, Gloria Lusty, Marilyn Miller, Margie Osborn and Carolyn McDowell.

The next regular meeting will be June 17th at the Wallace Creek clubhouse at 2 p.m. with Marilyn Miller as hostess.
