Nell Rhoden, 89, of Rochelle, Texas, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Nell was born November 1, 1920, in Ft. Worth, Texas, to Raymond D. Matlock and Johnnie Aylor Matlock. She married Wyndham Rhoden on November 27, 1940, in Houston, Texas. Wyndham preceded her in death on August 27, 1990. She was a member of the Protestant Church.

Nell is survived by her son, Wyndham Ray Rhoden of Fulton, Texas; her daughter, Patricia Wadsworth and her husband Mike of Holt, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Michael Wadsworth, Jr. and his wife Mimi of Pasadena, Texas; Tricia Lay and her husband Patrick of League City, Texas; Carey Rhoden and her husband Jimmy Cooye of Fulton, Texas; Wendy Nell Anaya and her husband Beto of Kingwood, Texas; great-grandchildren Austin Beale, Mackenzie Beale, Madeline Wadsworth, Meredith Wadsworth, Emily Anaya and Nathan Anaya; and nephew and niece Dr. David Rhoden, III, and Diane Rhoden.

Nell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Ray Matlock, Jr.

Visitation was on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home.

Services were held Sunday, April 18, 2010, at 5:00 P.M. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Simpson, officiating.

Interment followed at the Holt Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Holt Cemetery Association.
