On Tuesday April 6, 2010, five San Saba County Extension Education club members attended the TEEA District 7 Spring Conference in San Angelo.

Attending were Mary Jane Dennis, Fran Hulgan, Louise Oswald, Martha Roe Terry, Lucy Wilson and County Extension Agent Carolyn McDowell.

Two ladies were honored for their long membership in the organization: Bertha Griffay, 65 years; and Martha Roe Terry, 60 years. Mary Jane Dennis received the Texas Treasure Award for District 7. This award honors an individual’s accomplishments and contributions made through TEEA. She had been nominated by her club, Bend-Chappel and it was a complete surprise to her. She will now be eligible for the state wide honor which will be awarded at the State meeting in September. Congratulations ladies.
