JC's Cru will be part of San Saba County Relay For Life
Thursday, April 1, 2010 • Posted April 1, 2010

JC’s Kids is back again this year and proud to be a part of the San Saba County Relay for Life. Their name has changed to JC’s Cru but we still have several of the original "Kids" on board. They are Wyatt Deans who is the co-captain and also Garrett Welch, John Welch, Logan Guidroz and a newcomer John Faught. The team is still growing and they hope to have more kids join and sign up before the actual event. Some of the "kids" are on other teams this year but thankfully still part of the event and we know they will do a great job for them.

Last year, the team was blessed to be chosen as the "Most Spirited Team" and they are going to do their best to win that title again. They were successsful last year because of so many supporters with their generous donations to the American Cancer Society and/or the purchase of luminarias to honor survivors of cancer or to remember those that may have lost their battle. If you would like to show your support and be a part of the cure, please send your donations to:

JC’s Cru

Attention Wyatt Deans

1307 West Sunset

San Saba, Texas 76877

If your donation is to purchase a luminaria, please remember to include the name of the person being honored or remembered and specify which as well as your contact information. Then come out to Risien Park on Friday, April 16th at 9 p.m. and witness a very touching Luminaria Ceremony.

The night’s events kick off with an opening ceremony at 6 p.m. After the ceremony, dinner will be served to the Survivors. If you are or know of a survivor that would like to attend this event, contact Michelle Whitley at 325.372.7588 or Marian Deans at 325.423.4703 this week.

Food and goodies will be for sale at the team tents and activities every hour to help keep everyone awake and energized. JC’s Cru is in charge of the Mr. Relay Pageant that will be at midnight. Last year, the young men, who were ladies for that brief period in time, really gave a great show and earned some extra money to help with cancer research.

Remember, cancer doesn’t sleep so on April 16th, neither will we! Here’s to a successful Relay for Life Event for San Saba County-but more importantly, here’s to a world with way more birthdays!
