Mada Lee Smith

Mada Lee Smith, 96, of San Saba, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Eventide Nursing Home. She was born January 21, 1914, in San Saba to Roy Crockett and Maude Goodloe Crockett.

Mada Lee married Floyd Smith on June 19, 1930, in Waurika, Oklahoma. Floyd preceded her in death on January 18, 1985.

Mada Lee was a member of the First Baptist Church of San Saba and was very dedicated to her profession of Treasurer of San Saba County, Texas.

She is survived by her nephews, Roger Crockett of San Saba, Tx., Olan Crockett and his wife Dorothy of Hamilton, Tx.; and Richard Crockett and his wife Janice of Tennessee; her nieces, Barbara Pensick of Nebraska, and Debra Thompson and her husband Bob of Kentucky. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Clell and L. G. (Sonny) Crockett, and one infant sister.

Services were held Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Crosby officiating. Interment followed the ceremony at San Saba City Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the San Saba Cemetery Building Fund or to the San Saba County EMS.
